Behind the bravura of left fielder Edwin Gomez, the Minnesota Twins topped the Houston Astros by the score of 11-3. Gomez was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Twins. For the Astros, the loss makes their record 5-10.

Josh Northrop had a big grand slam home run for the Twins in the bottom of the third inning. With Minnesota leading 4-2 and the bases loaded, he sized up a slider from 29-year old left-handed pitcher Ben Klaverkamp and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 8-2.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Gomez told the Minnesota Citizen.
