White Sox Squeeze By Oakland, 10-9
|
The Chicago White Sox cut down the Oakland Athletics by the score of 10-9, with the largest share of the credit going to catcher Isaiah Boose. Boose went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the White Sox. The win went to Curt Roy in relief, making him now 1-0. Steve Clark took the loss for Oakland. Sang-duk Kim got the save, the 10th for him this season.
Gene Harder drove in one run for Chicago. The 2031 Rookie of the Year Award winner had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 9-9 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Steve Clark. It was his 21st RBI of the season.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Harder.
The second-place White Sox have won 5 in a row.
