Marlins Rally For Late Win Over Pirates
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Miami Marlins.

The Miami Marlins overcame a good performance by Pittsburgh designated hitter Mike Clark to knock off Pittsburgh, 8-6, at PNC Park. Clark went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Javy Baker picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Josh Crone was tagged with the loss.

Jim Wheatley drove in one run for Miami. The 11-year veteran had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Sam Kelm. It was his 15th RBI of the season.

"I'm proud to wear a Miami jersey," Wheatley told the Miami Bulletin. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"

The Marlins now have a record of 20-14 with the win over Pittsburgh.
