With 6-2 Win, Royals Go to 16-12

Conditions were not ideal but Kansas City and Pittsburgh were able to put their game in the books.
The Kansas City Royals got a stellar performance from pitcher Josh Gibbs, who handcuffed the Pittsburgh offense en route to a win, 6-2, at PNC Park. Gibbs, now 3-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs.
Leo Medrano had a big run-scoring double for the Royals in the top of the fifth inning. With Kansas City leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a changeup from Juan Cano, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in innings pitched with 39.2, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 2-0.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Medrano. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
The win brings the Royals to 16-12, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
